Independent Study Program

Our Independent Study Program (ISP) services up to 10% of the school’s total ADA plus exemptions for pregnant and parenting students.  It meets the needs of various student groups: parents performing full-time child care, students employed in jobs that prevent school attendance, and those with special needs. Students in this program must meet minimum credit requirements each quarter to stay in this program.

If you are interested in doing Independent Study, please contact Ms. Schroeder or Ms. Vine.

Concurrent Enrollment

Maple High School currently offers one concurrent enrollment course on campus: English 100 (ENGL 100).  Students who take concurrent enrollment courses earn high school credit and college credit at Allan Hancock College.

English 100 is a course designed for students interested in developing writing skills specific for the workplace.  The course will cover how to write a resume and cover letter, how to write a professional email, how to write a concise summary and analyze a text critically, and eventually move towards a research project that supports a students’ specific field of study.

If you would like to enroll in a Concurrent Enrollment course at MHS, please see your counselor or contact Ms. Vine.
