Welcome to –
Maple High School
Maple High School believes all students can find success with the right systems and support in place. Our goal is that when each student graduates, they have a solid plan in place for their next stage of life. We have partnered with many organizations to support this endeavor.
Maple High School is part of the Big Picture Learning initiative and a part of the consortium of alt-ed schools in California. We now offer an Advisory class during 3rd period. All students are enrolled in an Advisory class and assigned to an Advisor. We believe that high school graduates must know how to reason, problem-solve, and be active members of the community. As a Big Picture Learning school, there is no canon of information that all students must know. In a world where available information is growing exponentially, we believe that the most important thing a student needs to know is how to learn. Integral to the Big Picture Learning design are five learning goals, a framework for looking at concepts, skills, and abilities, and a guide for creating a personalized curriculum. The five learning goals are Personal Qualities, Communication, Quantitative Reasoning, Empirical Reasoning, and Social Reasoning. Student learning is personalized and we work with the community to find mentorships for students.
Inclusivity
We prioritize inclusivity by actively promoting a welcoming and supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered.
